Extreme Tear-drop Model
Brača VI is designed with a more extreme ‘tear-drop’ shape, which facilitates a very powerful catch. This design maximizes the working blade area when it is only partially submerged in the water, especially at the beginning and the end of the stroke cycle.
Due to the special shape, this blade feels bigger compared to a normal teardrop blade with the same area size, such as the Braca I & IV shape. Braca VI’s are more typically sprint paddles due to their large size.
Braca VII (7) paddles are smaller versions of the Braca VI (6) paddles. They are the same shape and are typically used for marathon and sprint, depending on the size of the paddler. This blade has become increasingly popular in recent years due to Danuta Kozak (HUN) winning two Olympic gold medals in London and three gold medals in Rio using a Brača VII 745 paddle.
