Newly Added to Our Inventory

Extra Twist for a Firm Catch

Brača II is based on the Brača I design, it has increased blade pitch (see diagram below), which provides a firmer catch and more effortless exit than Brača I. FastPaddler just added these paddles to our inventory, they are a popular option in Europe. These are larger sprint paddles, in the same category of sizes as the Braca I. For smaller size blades with strong catch check out the Braca VII.

Braca Kid

Brača Kid is a 'parallel-edge' blade with a proportionally smaller blade size and with proprietary material characteristics and mechanics of the paddle that are specifically designed to fit children’s physiology. It enables absorption of impact from each paddle stroke, thereby reducing shock on the shoulders, elbows and wrists and ultimately decreasing common kayak injuries. These small blade sizes are also great for marathon and long-distance adult paddlers!

Braca IX/X

Hybrid (Fusion) Model

Brača IX/X is engineered using advanced kinetic, bio-mechanical and material science concepts to combine the best characteristics from multiple paddle designs into one hybrid model. The X is the smaller versions of this design, 680 and 705. The revolutionary idea enables the paddle to provide different characteristics during each phase of the stroke (catch, drive and exit). It has a very firm catch, and then transitions to the smooth medium power drive and effortless and forgiving exit.

Braca VI

Extreme Tear-drop Model

Brača VI is designed with a more extreme 'tear-drop' shape, which facilitates a very powerful catch. This design maximizes the working blade area when it is only partially submerged in the water, especially at the beginning and the end of the stroke cycle. Due to the special shape, this blade feels bigger compared to a normal teardrop blade with the same area size, such as the Braca I & IV shape. Braca VI's are more typically sprint paddles due to their large size.

Braca VII (7) paddles are smaller versions of the Braca VI (6) paddles. They are the same shape and are typically used for marathon and sprint, depending on the size of the paddler. This blade has become increasingly popular in recent years due to Danuta Kozak (HUN) winning two Olympic gold medals in London and three gold medals in Rio using a Brača VII 745 paddle.

Tear-drop Model with Powerful Catch

Brača VII is designed with a more extreme 'tear-drop' shape, which facilitates a very powerful catch.

This design maximizes the working blade area when it is only partially submerged in the water, especially at the beginning and end of the stroke cycle. Due to its special shape, this blade feels bigger than a normal tear-drop blade with the same area size, such as the Braca I & IV shape. Braca VII paddles are typically used for marathon and sprint, depending on the paddler's size. Braca VI paddles, a larger version of the same extreme teardrop as the VII, are more typically sprint paddles due to their large blade size. (VI paddles are bigger than VII paddles.)

This blade has become increasingly popular in recent years due to Danuta Kozak (HUN) winning two Olympic gold medals in London and three gold medals in Rio using a Brača VII 745 paddle.

Braca VIII

June 15th, 2017|Categories: , , , , |Tags: , , |

Innovative Tear-drop Model

Braca VIII is based on an innovative blade concept. It was designed and engineered to facilitate a softer catch and the generation of smooth, precise, and consistent strokes. The Braca VIII makes an ideal first wing paddle for sea kayakers due to the soft catch and more forgiving forward stroke posture. The Braca VIII blades are long, so it’s important to order a paddle that is long enough so you do not end up with a short inner shaft with your hands too close together. More info here.
