Bracsa VIII is based on an innovative blade concept. It was designed and engineered to facilitate a softer catch and the generation of smooth, precise, and consistent strokes. The Bracsa VIII makes an ideal first wing paddle for sea kayakers due to the soft catch and more forgiving forward stroke posture. Our VIII's are Bracsa VIII style as pictured (previous logo, same blade design) with new shafts. All Bracsa VIII have the newest model shafts with the latest locking mechanism. Paddles with the Bracsa label (as opposed to Braca) and a blacker finish are awesome deals, the exact same blade design but from older inventory, new, unused and in perfect condition. Youth-Sized, 50% Carbon, Wing Paddle
Paddle of choice for young US Development Club Paddlers Braca Children is designed with the same tear-drop shape used in Braca I and Braca IV but proportionally reduced for youth. This youth-sized paddle is manufactured with a carbon, fiberglass combination resulting in a paddle with more flex. These softer mechanics allow for less stress on young joints and muscles, reducing common kayaking injuries. The youth shaft diameter is slightly smaller than the standard sized shafts. Also, consider the Braca IV Carbon 60 paddle in smaller sizes. This is basically the same paddle as the Braca Children but with a choice of standard-diameter shafts. As the name suggests, it has an aggressive catch due to the wide leading edge, which gives excellent acceleration and boat control. The blade is thinner and flatter than the other Polo models, which facilitates more precise ball handling. The new Braca Stand Up Maui paddle is designed to allow you maximum energy transfer in a light, powerful paddle. The Maui is built for a firm catch and smooth midstroke with clean exit. The specially shaped spine minimizes flutter of the blade throughout the stroke. Three carbon handles are available along with a choice of fixed length or adjustable (15cm range) shaft. Tear-drop Model with Powerful Catch
Brača VII is designed with a more extreme 'tear-drop' shape, which facilitates a very powerful catch.This design maximizes the working blade area when it is only partially submerged in the water, especially at the beginning and end of the stroke cycle. Due to its special shape, this blade feels bigger than a normal tear-drop blade with the same area size, such as the Braca I & IV shape. Braca VII paddles are typically used for marathon and sprint, depending on the paddler's size. Braca VI paddles, a larger version of the same extreme teardrop as the VII, are more typically sprint paddles due to their large blade size. (VI paddles are bigger than VII paddles.)
This blade has become increasingly popular in recent years due to Danuta Kozak (HUN) winning two Olympic gold medals in London and three gold medals in Rio using a Brača VII 745 paddle.
